[1] Agriculture Extension Assistant

No of Posts: 1581 Posts (UR: 876 Posts, OBC/MOBC: 496 Posts, ST (H): 43 Posts, ST (P): 65 Posts & PwD: 14 Posts)

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 to Rs.60,500 with Grade Pay of Rs. 6,200 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

Educational Qualification: The Candidates have to pass Higher Secondary (HS) from a Government recognized Board/Council/ University.

Preference: Preference will be given Only for those candidates who have passed in the Science stream and hold Rural Back Ground Certificate.

[2] Junior Assistant

[3] Stenographer

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 to Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 8,700 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

Educational Qualification: The candidates must Graduate in any discipline from any recognised University and required to have a Grade-I Stenography Diploma with a minimum speed of 80 words per minutes (English) and a minimum 6 months Diploma in Computer.

[4] Steno-Typist

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 to Rs.60,500 with Grade Pay of Rs. 6,200 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

Educational Qualification: The Candidates have to pass Higher Secondary (HS) from a Government recognized Board/Council/ University with Statistics, Economics or Mathematics as one of the subjects.

[7] Mechanic (Jute)

No of Posts: 06 Posts

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 to Rs.60,500 with Grade Pay of Rs. 5,600 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

Educational Qualification: The Candidates have to pass Matriculation / High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) from a Government recognized Board/Council/ University, also required to have a 2 years Diploma in Mechanical from Government ITI.

[8] Grade-IV

No of Posts: 09 Posts

Pay Scale: Rs.12,000 to Rs.35,000 with Grade Pay of Rs. 3,900 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

Educational Qualification: The Candidates have to pass class 8th from a recognized institute or school.

Age Limits and Relaxation of Agriculture Department Recruitment

Age Limits: The candidate should not be more than 40 years and less than 18 years of age as of 1st January 2020.

Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable as under given below

  • 05 (five) years in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST (P) & ST (H).
  • 03 (three) years in case of candidates belonging to OBC/MOBC.

Note: For purpose of determining the age limit, the department will accept only the date of birth recorded in the Birth Certificate, Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate/Admit card issued by a recognized Education Board. Syllabus for Agriculture Department Recruitment Exam

The duration of the Written Test will be of 2 hours and The test will be for 100 marks with 100 questions and will be completely OMR based. Each question will carry a 1 (one) mark.

There will negative marking of ½ (half) mark for each wrong answer. The candidates will have to use Black Ballpoint Pen to answer the OMR based answer sheet.

Selection Process of Agriculture Recruitment

There will be Two Phase Test that is First Phase Test and Second Phase test all the above mentioned posts.

FIRST PHASE TEST: Candidates whose application are found correct in all respect will be called for the Witten test

First Phase Test will be conducted at any convenient venue(s) depending upon the numbers of candidates. The candidates will have to appear for the First Phase Test at the venue mentioned in his/her call letter. However, the Chairman, Selection Committee, Directorate of Agriculture, Assam reserves the right to change the venue (s)of the test as necessitated and no representation etc. will be entertained in thisregard.Before entering the test in the venue (s) for the First Phase Test, the Admit Card / Call Letter of thecandidates will be verified.

SECOND PHASE TEST: After completion of the Written Test, a merit list will be prepared for each category of the posts for both male and female on the basis of total marks scored in the Written Test.

The Candidates will be called for Second Phase Test in order of merit at the rate of 4 (four) times the number of posts allotted in respect of each cadre & category-wise for both male & female. If the total number ofqualifying candidates turn out to be less than 4 (four) times per number of posts, all qualifying candidates but no other will be called for Second Phase Test.

If there are candidates scoring the same marks in the written test as the last candidates selected for Second Phase Test by the 4 times formula in a particular case, the candidates scoring the same marks will also be called for the second Phase Test and therefore, the number may exceed the 4
times to that extent for the particulars case and category only.
