A new initiative has been created by the Chief Minister of Assam for women empowerment to offer financial assistance to cover their expenses. The implementation of Assam Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan Scheme 2024 will be held on Thursday where the Self Help Group Womens will be getting financial help.

The selected women entrepreneurs will get annual income of Rs. 1 lakh. The Assam Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan Scheme is also known as the “Lakhpati Baideo Scheme”. There are special requirements for this program, mostly centered around the maximum number of children a woman may have in order to be eligible for payments.

Overview of Assam Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan Scheme

The Assam Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan Scheme is an initiative of Government of Assam for helping the 40 lakh women entrepreneurs to give them an opportunity where they will get financial assistance. These womens should belong to Self Help Groups of Assam, where the General or OBC Group females should have at least 3 childrens, up to 4 for ST, SC and Moran, Motok, and ‘Tea Tribes’ could have 4 children maximum. The “Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan,” which is expected to be implemented at a cost of ₹ 4,000 crore, will give each SHG worker ₹ 10,000 in the first year and ₹ 12,500 from the government. Over the following two years, a bank loan for an additional ₹ 12,500 will be given, for a total of 25,000.

Objective of Assam Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan Scheme

The main aim of the Assam government of behind the implementation of Assam Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan Scheme which is also known as Lakhpati Baideo Scheme is to empower women so they will be able to take their family responsibilities. As there are many women who alone take care of their families, to help such womens the government has decided to offer them financial assistance up to Rs. 35,000. So, their annual family income will become 1 lakh. The women should be members of Self Help Groups. They don’t need to take help from anyone else. It will encourage other talented women to get proper education and make their families proud.

Eligibility Criteria of Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan Scheme

• The applicant should be a female and a member of Self Help Groups.
• The General or OBC Group females should have at least 3 childrens, up to 4 for ST, SC and Moran, Motok, and ‘Tea Tribes’ could have 4 children maximum.
• The children of SHG members should enroll in School for education.
• The candidate must be a member of Amrit Brikshya Andolan and should plant a tree which is still standing.
